Mashpia part 11
Mashpia is an influence, a spiritual mentoring

It's remarkable how much free time
                        I have

She said, diarist and prostitute
                        After retiring

Her work became revered
                        Poet of compassion

She converted her past into clarity what she wrote
                        Everyone believed

Gevurah in Hod

The man walked up to me singing
one of those tunes, like a memory
and I swear, I saw him smiling.

He said, "This is the secret,"
as he shambled in a cloud of dust
bare foot and blind.

"Be humble, remember your feet
they ain't gonna lie to you. Once,
I didn't even have a home and I saw
the ocean. I thought she was yelling,
turns out, as things often do,
she was crying. The greatest of all
the bodies, wracked with tears
from thousands of years of heroes
fooling the world how to live."

He spent his best days
                 Believing

If he could only make the peace prayers properly
                 Twice

The world would be as completely
                 Beautiful

As the heavenly

I find that,

What God built into creation

For us to understand

i s not as awesome as what God built into creation for us to ponder!

Lag B'omer
The thirty third day of the Omer
Lag La'omer known among Sephardim
Also the code of resistance
During the great Jewish revolts

What I remember most
Is the picture you gave me
Of Bar Yochai
One eye smiling
One eye crying

There is a sense of the foundation
in the beauty
recalled most vividly

so much Bar Yochai

I like your words
        Their dedication and mantra

I only wish
        You would add

A little elohim
        He said

I wish to add
        A little elohim

To your words

They laughed

in amazement at the power
of the light, watching it burn
effortlessly through the center
of leaves scattered about
in the sun, dancing and blazing
just like the priests and animals.

Outside in the park by the slide
they wonder at the mystery,
how this little piece of glass
turns that which illuminates into something that consumes.

Through the glass I wander
out towards the stars above
impossible in their display
impossible in their reign of age
and yet, through this tiny window
I can find my way to them.

Through these simple moments
I catch a glimpse of the most high
cloaked in the images of this
so beautiful and diverse
and like a dervish spinning, worlds
fly forth from His outstretched hands.

Elohim, I cried

In my softest whisper yet

then reverently bowed
